The members of Delta Epsilon Mu are committed in serving the community by advocating health education and care. Engaging community members through active participation in service activities, fundraising, and outreach programs challenges members to develop interpersonal, social, and leadership skills. Members are given opportunity to directly participate in health-orientated workshops and discussions; thereby attaining access to pertinent academic and career information through association with professors, advisors, career professionals, Alumni, and other fellow members.
Our Fraternity History
Spring Semester of 2007, a group of eleven students interested in pursuits in the health related fields decided to bring Delta Epsilon Mu to Virginia Commonwealth University. On April 25, 2007, the class was initiated by the Gamma Chapter of the University of Maryland. Just like the Alpha Chapter of Binghamton University, the Eta Chapter of DEM was initiated with a strong intent to united students interested in building a co-ed, pre-health, professional fraternity, which could serve Virginia Commonwealth University students by exposing them to professionals from various health fields. They wanted to inform students about today’s health issues with the intent of helping students choose a field of interest following graduation and beyond.
Delta Epsilon Mu is open to all undergraduate majors at Virginia Commonwealth University – regardless of gender, race, religion, or creed – who are interested in the health fields.
